Brain Tumor Network Expands Patient Navigation Support Through Strategic Collaboration With American Cancer Society

National collaboration will streamline access to personalized navigation support for the brain tumor community.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fl. – October 15, 2025 — Brain Tumor Network (BTN) announces a new collaboration with the American Cancer Society® (ACS) to expand access to specialized navigation for people diagnosed with a primary brain tumor and their caregivers.

BTN is a free, nationwide organization that supports families by helping them better understand their options, coordinate care, access psychosocial resources, and receive personalized clinical trial matching and enrollment assistance. While BTN does not provide medical advice, it empowers patients and caregivers to make informed decisions. Through this collaboration, ACS will connect certain patients and caregivers from its helpline directly to BTN for high-touch, personalized navigation support.

Individuals can connect with ACS via the 24/7 cancer helpline at 1-800-227-2345. The helpline provides round-the-clock support from trained cancer information specialists who answer questions about a cancer diagnosis, offer guidance, and provide a compassionate ear.

“Brain Tumor Network and its staff of trained nurses and social workers have spent years developing techniques for helping brain tumor patients and their caregivers manage the effects of this disease. We are thrilled to be collaborating with the American Cancer Society to help broaden our outreach and help more brain tumor patients in need,” said Rick Sontag, Founder and President, Brain Tumor Network.

“At the American Cancer Society, we’re committed to breaking down barriers to care. Through our collaboration with the Brain Tumor Network, we’re helping connect patients and caregivers facing a primary brain tumor diagnosis to free, expert navigation services—so they can overcome treatment challenges and access the quality care they deserve,” said Dr. Arif Kamal, chief patient officer at the American Cancer Society.
