Use of Health Information
Personal Health information is provided to Brain Tumor Network using a medical record release form and consent agreement signed by the patient. That health information is then used by BTN for purposes of our operations and administration including, but not limited to: sending the patient’s records to healthcare institutions for expert opinions, consulting with outside laboratories for specimen pathology review, and identifying potential treatment options and clinical trials the patient may wish to consider.
BTN is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide information and education to patients for them to discuss with their physicians and healthcare teams. BTN strives to maintain the privacy of health information provided to us. We do not sell patient-identifying health information, and we do not disclose patient-identifying information to any third parties for any marketing or fundraising purposes.
