A Milestone Year. A Decade of Service.

2024 Annual Report

Together, we move forward with hope, compassion, and purpose. Thank you for being a part of the journey.

In 2014, we established Brain Tumor Network (BTN) as an organization solely dedicated to helping patients and their caregivers who are dealing with the scourge of a brain tumor. We think we have succeeded in our mission.

Since 2014 BTN has:

  • Assisted 5,000 brain tumor patients throughout all 50 U.S. states
  • Grew staff from one Nurse Navigator to a group of 23 professionals
  • Developed our own patient information system to help individually tailor patient support
  • Became the largest independent brain tumor navigation support organization of its kind in the world

We are proud of what we’ve accomplished in the past 10 years and look forward to even bigger things in our future.

Mission & Vision

The vision of Brain Tumor Network is to empower and deliver hope to those impacted by a primary brain tumor.

To provide free, individualized navigation to help patients and loved ones manage a primary brain tumor diagnosis, overcome treatment obstacles, and facilitate access to quality healthcare.

Navigation Services

Working alongside our neuro-oncology navigators facilitates the expansion of patient-centered care by fostering transparent conversations about each patient’s unique needs and care objectives. This collaborative approach empowers patients with the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions regarding their care.

Navigating Together, Every Step of the Way

We Meet Patients Where They Are

Brain Tumor Network understands that every brain tumor experience is unique. With nurse and social work navigators located across the country, we meet patients and families where they are—offering personalized guidance and resources no matter where they’re located. Whether it’s providing clarity on a diagnosis, exploring treatment options, or connecting with local resources, our team is here to support patients every step of the way.

My husband, Dan, survived glioblastoma brain cancer for 3.5 years.

I learned of the Brain Tumor Network about a year after his diagnosis from a fellow GBM patient we randomly met in a grocery store parking lot, due to both wearing the Optune device. She spoke so highly of BTN to random strangers that I had to reach out.

Once I contacted BTN I was immediately connected to our Nurse Navigator and a she was there every step of the way, including after Dan’s passing.

Our Navigator was the support we didn’t know we needed along this journey. She was who I called first after leaving doctor appointments. She answered all of our questions, helped explain all of our options, and ran tons of clinical trial searches no matter how many times I asked. Dan never matched with a trial due to his complex case; but that didn’t slow our navigator down -researching and discussing every crazy option I emailed her.

Our Nurse Navigator also connected us with the wonderful Social Workers at BTN. They helped answer all my other questions: insurance, resources, support…if they didn’t know the answer they would find it. The Social Workers also help run a great support group that I’m happy to still participate in and share Dan’s story.

It was a wild 3.5 years and beyond but I’m so grateful we had and continue to have the support of the Brain Tumor Network.,

-Tracy, BTN Caregiver
