Walking Beside Dan and Tracy Through Every Step of Glioblastoma

Dan and Tracy leaned on BTN for steady guidance through every stage of his GBM care. Their navigator and social workers offered clear information, consistent support, and a place for Tracy to stay connected even after Dan’s passing.

Dan lived with glioblastoma for three and a half years. His wife, Tracy, learned about Brain Tumor Network through a chance encounter with another patient wearing the same Optune device. That brief conversation changed everything.

Milestones, strength, and resilience deserve to be recognized.

When Tracy reached out to Brain Tumor Network, she was immediately connected with a nurse navigator who became a trusted part of their care team. Their navigator guided them through every stage of Dan’s journey—helping them understand treatment options, explaining clinical trials, and answering questions after every appointment.

Even though Dan never matched with a clinical trial due to the complexity of his case, his navigator never stopped looking for options. She researched every possibility, reviewed each idea Tracy sent her, and offered steady, compassionate support the entire time.

Tracy and Dan also worked closely with BTN’s social workers, who helped with insurance, resources, and emotional support. Tracy continues to participate in BTN’s caregiver support group, sharing Dan’s story and supporting others who are facing similar challenges.

Our navigator was the support we didn’t know we needed along this journey. She was there every step of the way, even after Dan’s passing.

At Brain Tumor Network, we were honored to stand beside Dan and Tracy, providing knowledge, comfort, and connection through every stage of their journey—and beyond.
