Support That Helped James Reach the Right Team

When James’s sudden symptoms led to a glioblastoma diagnosis, he and his wife were left sorting through conflicting opinions and urgent decisions. Brain Tumor Network helped them gather records, reach NIH for evaluation, and access a clinical study that gave him expert, life-saving care.

When James began losing coordination in his left foot and hand, he thought it might be an old spine injury acting up. After visiting his doctor, a CT scan and MRI revealed two masses in his right frontal lobe. Within days, doctors suspected glioblastoma and recommended immediate surgery.

James’s biggest concern was finding the best possible care. While hospitalized, he worried about conflicting medical opinions and the risks of surgery. Searching for guidance, he and his wife found Brain Tumor Network.

From the first call, BTN’s navigators took action. My navigator collected James’s medical records from multiple providers and directed the couple to the National Institutes of Health in Maryland for evaluation. There, James was accepted into a clinical study and received care from a highly specialized brain tumor team.

We could not have maneuvered through this treatment process alone. I was accepted into a clinical study where I received excellent care from extremely professional brain surgery specialists. I really believe Brain Tumor Network helped save my life.

At Brain Tumor Network, we are honored to have helped James and his wife find expert care and renewed hope through timely information, coordination, and support.
