Jim’s journey began in April 2021, when he started having trouble remembering how to do everyday tasks. After he experienced a seizure, an MRI revealed a mass in his left frontal and parietal lobe, and a biopsy confirmed a Grade IV glioblastoma.

He began treatment with six weeks of radiation and concurrent temozolomide, followed by six months of maintenance therapy. Since completing treatment, he has continued with routine MRI scans that have shown stable disease for more than a year. Although he lives with some mild cognitive changes, he remains active and focused on maintaining his strength. Regular workouts, including balance exercises with a BOSU ball, help him stay steady and confident in his recovery.

Through Brain Tumor Network, Jim found guidance and reassurance. His navigator coordinated his medical records, prepared his file for future clinical trial consideration, and provided education and ongoing check-ins. BTN’s support gave him clarity and peace of mind, knowing that help and resources would be available if his tumor ever progressed.

“I’m doing well. I’m staying active and feeling strong.”

A retired industrial construction manager, Jim continues to approach each day with determination and optimism. He remains active, engaged, and grateful for the support that has helped him stay informed, organized, and ready for whatever comes next.
