Introducing “Coloring Cancer: A Colorful Way to Understand Brain Tumors”
We are thrilled to announce a new, free resource designed to support families navigating the complexities of a brain tumor diagnosis: Coloring Cancer: A Colorful Way to Understand Brain Tumors. This collaborative effort between Brain Tumor Network and Bright Spot Network aims to provide young children with a creative and engaging way to learn about brain tumors, their symptoms, and challenges commonly associated with this type of diagnosis.

A Partnership Rooted in Support
Last summer, at the Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW) Conference in New Orleans, LA, Brain Tumor Network had the pleasure of connecting with Bright Spot Network. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet face-to-face, particularly since our team of Social Work Navigators and Nurse Navigators frequently share Bright Spot Network’s resources with parents who are managing a primary brain tumor while simultaneously raising young children.
Addressing the Needs of Families
At Brain Tumor Network, our navigators understand the profound impact a primary brain tumor diagnosis can have on patients and their families. We are dedicated to supporting patients and their loved ones through this challenging journey. Recognizing the unique needs of families with young children, we are committed to providing resources that help parents communicate effectively and honestly with their kids about their diagnosis.

The Coloring Book: A Creative Tool for Families
In collaboration with Bright Spot Network, we are excited to present our new coloring book and resource guide for parents with brain tumors and their children. Coloring Cancer: A Colorful Way to Understand Brain Tumors is packed with fun and informative illustrations by Chelsey Gomez (@ohyouresotough), an author, artist, and cancer community advocate. The coloring pages are specifically crafted to help families discuss brain tumor diagnoses and navigate the journey together.
We hope this coloring book will be a valuable tool for families, providing a colorful and interactive way to talk about and understand brain tumors. Whether it’s helping children express their feelings or answering their questions about the family’s experience, this resource is here to support you every step of the way.
