BTN welcomes Dr. Chang, a nationally respected neuro-oncology leader, to its Board of Directors
We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Susan Chang, a distinguished leader in neuro-oncology, has joined the Brain Tumor Network Board of Directors. Her extensive expertise and unwavering dedication to patient and caregiver support align seamlessly with BTN’s mission to empower those affected by brain tumors.
Dr. Chang is a Professor in Residence and holds the Lai Wan Kan Endowed Chair in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She co-leads the Neuro-Oncology Program at the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and directs the UCSF Neuro-Oncology Gordon Murray Caregiver Program, which provides vital resources and support to caregivers of brain tumor patients.
Her research focuses on developing novel therapies and imaging biomarkers for brain tumors. As a principal investigator, Dr. Chang oversees numerous clinical trials exploring treatments such as chemotherapy, targeted agents, immunotherapy, and convection-enhanced delivery of novel agents.
Dr. Chang is deeply committed to enhancing the quality of life for patients and their families. She co-directs the Sheri Sobrato Brisson Brain Cancer Survivorship Program, which offers comprehensive survivorship care for brain tumor patients.
Dr. Chang’s appointment to BTN’s Board of Directors underscores our commitment to integrating top-tier medical expertise into our organizational leadership. Her insights will be invaluable as we continue to navigate the complexities of brain tumor care and support.
