Advancing Access to Quality Healthcare: BTN’s Role in Patient Support
In recognition of Healthcare Quality Awareness Week (Oct 20-26), BTN is highlighting our commitment to ensuring every patient has access to high-quality brain tumor care.
At the heart of our efforts is our health information support team, whose expertise is crucial to our work in patient navigation. Medical records management, for example, is a service that significantly alleviates stress for patients and families.
Coordinating care across multiple institutions—often three or more—can be both complex and overwhelming. With informed consent, our team contacts these institutions directly to gather essential medical records and imaging, alleviating the burden on patients. This ensures they no longer need to navigate the time-consuming process of collecting their own health information, allowing them to focus fully on their care and well-being.

We then transfer these records to other providers, streamlining access to second opinions and clinical trials. This support ensures patients can focus on their care, not administrative challenges.
Our Health Information team’s meticulous work directly influences our ability to provide streamlined, personalized support. They help reduce delays and barriers that can stand between patients and timely, effective care.
Quality healthcare involves more than access to treatment—it requires thoughtful coordination and comprehensive support. BTN’s navigation services, backed by our health information team, address the unique needs of each patient. Whether facilitating trial enrollment or bridging gaps in care, our services empower patients and families to make informed decisions confidently.
Our organization remains committed to the belief that quality care should be accessible to all. We celebrate the contributions of our health information team, whose behind-the-scenes efforts are essential in improving the patient experience. Read more about their impact here.
