Helping A New Father Enroll in a Clinical Trial and Move Forward With Confidence

What Rob thought were new-parent headaches turned out to be a brain tumor diagnosis. With guidance from BTN, he and his family found relief, direction, and the confidence to move forward together.

When Rob began experiencing headaches and anxiety shortly after becoming a new father, he assumed it was part of the adjustment to parenthood. But his symptoms soon worsened. He developed blurred vision and mental blocks, and medical exams revealed a tennis ball-sized mass on his brain.

Just three days later, Rob underwent surgery and received a glioblastoma diagnosis. Determined to pursue clinical trials, he quickly realized how overwhelming the process could be while managing paperwork, deadlines, and treatment decisions on his own. His doctor referred him to Brain Tumor Network for help.

Through BTN, Rob connected with a navigator who guided him step by step through the process of identifying and enrolling in a clinical trial at the University of Florida. Having expert support and someone who understood the urgency brought relief to Rob and his family.

To have someone who understands what we’re going through, the urgency, and the emotions has been so valuable and such a relief for my family.

I try to appreciate what I have, control what I can, and stay in the moment as much as possible.
