Medical Director and Director of Clinical Research, Neurosurgery, Ascension St. Vincent’s
Dr. Kent New is the Medical Director and Director of Clinical Research of Ascension St. Vincent’s Neurosurgery department who serves as a clinical advisor to Brain Tumor Network. He earned his MD/PhD at Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he focused on viral gene and cancer therapies in the brain. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Duke University Medical Center, concentrating his research on brain tumor immunology.
Dr. New later served as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, and then as part of the St. Vincent’s Brain and Spine Institute, where he oversaw research efforts prior to retiring from clinical practice. In his advisory role with BTN, he assists with the evaluation of patient cases and clinical trials.
